Zillow’s chief economist Stan Humphries said in the article that he predicts prices of Chicago condos and single-family homes won’t hit bottom until the third quarter of this year. He was quoted as saying that, “We think once we’ve hit bottom, we’re looking at three to five years of negligible appreciation.” If he is correct, then anyone shopping for Chicago homes may want to wait a little longer to see if prices really do drop a bit more.
